Welcome

June 22 - 26, 2009
The Summer Technology Institute is a week-long course that can be taken for either 3 graduate credits or 4.5 continuing education credits (CEUs). The Institute provides integration strategies for all  K-12 educators. During this week participants immerse themselves in technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Take some time to look around. We have some exciting strands and workshops this year that will keep you up with the latest technologies. If you have any questions, feel free to send Gail Garthwait an email.

On Line Learning Environments Moodle, Studywiz, NoteShare Server

How to organize your digital classroom using Moodle, Studywiz and/or NoteShare Server. Easily share digital materials, via these multi use containers. Create fun interactive e-learning/e-teaching experiences. Combined with tradition face to face classroom activities the possibilities are only limited by imagination. Differentiate learning, provide materials 24/7, create environments that will allow your students to reach the top of Bloom’s Taxonomy, or rather Bloom’s revised Taxonomy.

Web Development in the 21st Century

Use current web based technologies to increase or improve communication in and out of the classroom. Using technologies such as Moodle, wikis, blogs, and web based video applications, you can provide a classroom experience, while “out of the classroom.” Encourage and foster collaboration with your students by working with online materials, that are accessible inside as well as outside your school. No more “My dog at the homework!” This strand will focus on the tools available as well as what you can jump into right now to supplement your classroom teaching.
