NECC so far

by Tim on June 28, 2009

I am finally in Washington, DC. The ride down was a great opportunity to get caught up with ACTEM friends and make a few new ones. Last night a bunch of us got on the metro to hit the mall for supper, which again, was a great time to get caught up. I think it is going to be a theme of the week. We also took a quick walk to the Whitehouse. I had never been here before. It was great to see in person and get that sense of history by walking down the street.

Shawn Kimball from Hampden Academy and I are rooming together with a 4th grade teacher from Philly and another gentleman I met on Second Life. Great example of meetups happening online.

Met up with Jim Chiavacci this morning and he showed a nice hole in the wall for breakfast. It was across from Ford Theatre. Again, very cool to see that. I hope I have time this week to see a couple of sights.

I am currently working on my plan of attack for the week. There is a ISTE Island Docent meetup tonight followed by the keynote by Malcolm Gladwell, author of Outliers.

Stay tuned as I plan on commenting and live blogging some of the sessions here. If you can’t attend NECC make sure you are keeping up. Use the link below.
